Construction site with excavators digging in a large pit. Surrounded by buildings and cranes, fenced by yellow barriers, and green trees.

In August 2022, Cannon Piling began work for CField Construction on the Quayside Lodge scheme in London. The full package comprised 251 CFA load‑bearing piles and 308 secant wall piles, amounting to 12 weeks of on‑site works. The project also featured the largest cages Cannon Piling has installed to date — 9 no. H40x14.5 cages within a 600mm OD spiral.

The scheme presented a number of engineering challenges, the most significant being the need to design and construct around an existing quay wall, which historically operated as a dry dock on the River Thames. This is where Cannon’s in‑house design expertise proved essential. Drawing on extensive experience working in and around London, our team developed a robust and efficient solution tailored to the constraints of the site and the client’s requirements.
