Ebury Bridge Road

Updated: Jan 8

The intersection of Ebury Bridge Road and St Barnabas Street in Abbots Manor, London was formerly a garage and pumping station. With plans to develop the location into a high-quality dementia care facility, Cannon’s expertise were needed in order to form a two-storey basement for the new care home. Working within Central London construction specifications, right next to Grade 2 Listed buildings and above a Crossrail tunnel exclusion zone, the project has been a satisfying challenge to complete, improving Cannon’s expertise in delivering secant piled walls within tight spaces.

Cannon Piling were contracted by Gilbert Ash to construct load bearing piles and a secant piled wall to form a two-storey basement. Due to the site’s position on a busy corner of land, and as the site basement spanned the entire site tight to the boundary, deliveries and muck away had to be carefully managed so that programme was maintained to our high standard.
